An Adult Family Home (AFH) is a licensed residential home that provides 24-hour care and support for a small number of adults who may need help with daily activities, personal care, medications, mobility, or other health needs. Unlike larger assisted living communities, adult family homes offer care in a smaller, home-like setting where residents can receive more individualized care. At Stillwater Care home in Vancouver, WA we provide personalized care in a comfortable environment with private bedrooms, private half-bathrooms, home-cooked meals, activities, and care based on each residents need while helping them feel truly at home.
How many residents live at Stillwater Care Home?
Our home is licensed for 6 residents which gives us the advantage to truly get to know and provide individualized care to each resident. With a small resident to caregiver ratio we are able to understand exactly the care our resident needs giving the families peace of mind that their loved one is well take care of.
What medical support is available?
We coordinate with local healthcare providers to manage medications and provide assistance with daily activities. We also work with palliative & hospice. Our team is equipped to handle emergencies with immediate care. All our staff is trained and certified.
Are there visiting hours?
We encourage regular visits from family and friends preferably after the residents are up for the day and cut off right before bed time. We do accommodate families who wish to be near their loved ones who are on hospice and want to be there during end of life.
What is the admission process in a adult family home?
We begin with a comprehensive assessment provided by a professional to understand your resident's unique needs. Families will also in the meantime schedule a tour of our home to ensure it meets their criteria. Our team works closely with families to ensure a smooth transition into our home environment. We'd like to meet with both the resident and family to discuss the residents preferences and ways we can make our home feel welcome to them.
